Picture #1:The Random Redeemer;
Prophetic Portrait
#1A; Torah: Vayikra, “and HE called”, a term of endearment,
(Read Lev.) 16:9; “Yahweh’s lot fell” regarding choosing
between two goats, one the Azazel (a scapegoat) the other a sin offering
or the Goel (Redeemer/Savior). The Goel has an associated word in scripture
as goral, dealing with fate or lot. The idea is to look upon the sin
offering and equate one’s own sin to it’s suffering, all
instituted by divine providence.
#1B; Vayikra (Lev) 25:25; Redeemer has to be Karov or family (read),
close relative from the word Korban or sacrifice (Lev. 1:2), to draw
close to the L-rd at the time of sacrifice. Verse 25: “and if his
redeeming relative comes to redeem”, dealing with getting out of
hock over financial burdens and maintaining property of family.
Fulfillment
#1: A; Brit HaKadasha (renewed covenant): Matityahu (Gift of Yah/ Matthew)
27:17; “…then Pilate said, “whom do you want me to
release to you? Barabbas (Son of the Father) or Y’shua Hamashiach
(Salvation the Anointed)? Some editions used Jesus Barabbas…the
Azazel or scapegoat.
#1B; Matityahu 27:35; “they crucified Him and cast lots dividing
His garment”. The Goel—Redeemer/savior and Goral (fate or
lot), the Kinsman Redeemer relieving us of our burden of sin.
Picture #2: One who is qualified:
Prophetic Portrait
#2A. Torah; Vayikra (Lev) 25:23; “the land shall not be sold permanently,
for the land is Mine…you shall grant redemption of the land.” V.
25:35; If one of your brethren becomes poor and falls into poverty, then
you shall help him…V.36; that your brother may live with you.” V.25:48; …he
may be redeemed again. One of his brothers may redeem him…V.49;
or anyone who is near of kin…V. 50; thus he shall reckon with
him who bought him. "
Fulfillment
#2B. Brit: Heb. 2:16: “…indeed He does give aid to the
seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His
brethren.

Prophetic Portrait
#3A. Torah; Devarim (Deut) 25:5; If brothers dwell together and one
of them dies and has no son, the widow shall not be married to a stranger…her
husband’s brother shall…perform the duty of a husband’s
brother to her….V. 6; that his name may not be blotted out.” V.7; “but
if the man does not want to take his brother’s wife…let
his brothers wife go up to the gate to the elders and say, my husbands
brother refuses…V. 9; in the presence of the elders remove his
sandal from his foot, spit in his face …and say So shall it be
done to the man who will not build up his brother’s house. And
his name shall be called in Israel, “”the house of him who
had his sandal removed. “
#3B. Tenach: Ruth 3:12; Boaz is speaking “ Now it is true I am
a close relative (Goel/redeemer/savior) , however, there is a closer
relative…if he does not perform the duty…I will.” Ruth
4:7; Now this was the custom in former times in Israel concerning redeeming
and exchanging, to confirm...one man took off his sandal and gave it
to the other….4:8: …”so he took off his sandal and
Boaz said to the elders …4: 9; ”you are witnesses this day… “to
the elders…V. 10; Ruth the Moabitess, I have acquired as my wife
to perpetuate the name of the dead…”.
From this redemption we get Obed, Jesse, and David’s line ultimately
producing Messiah.
Fulfillment
#3; A. Brit: Matityahu: 3.11; John the Baptist (a relative to Y’shua)
says “…but He who is coming after me who is mightier than
I (or qualified) whose sandal I am not worthy to carry…
#3B. Yochanon 13:5; He poured water…and began to wash the disciples’ feet” (after
removing their sandals).
#3C. Mat.27:30; “then they spat on Him…and led Him away
to be crucified.
#3D. Yochanon 19:30; “it is Finished”! Completed or paid
in full, nishlam, Debt cancelled, a public statement…Fee Paid
!
Messiah, being the only worthy one, removed the sandals of those not
worthy to redeem. He also, being the worthy one, was spit on even though
he was qualified and willing to redeem.
Completing these examples of the Redeemer is supernaturally done in
the life of Y’shua HaMashiach. It would be impossible to complete
in any other and therefore He must be the One. He is not just the one
because many others worship and recognize Him, but because they have
submitted their hearts to Him in belief and recognition of their need
of a Kinsman Redeemer.
Where do you stand ? Amazed at the portrait or wanting to join in the
big picture ?
